Anyone with clients, suppliers or a team outside their home country knows the pain. Money takes days to arrive, gets stuck over the weekend, and you only find out how much you paid in fees once the funds land in your account.
Lexxen payment corridors were built to solve exactly that. In this article, we explain what they are and how they work, in plain terms.
What is a payment corridor?
Think of a corridor as a direct road between two countries. On one side is the person paying. On the other, the person receiving. The money travels straight through, without stopping at a string of intermediaries.
The key point is that each side uses the payment method their local bank already uses. Your client in Europe pays by European bank transfer. You receive via PIX. Nobody has to learn anything new.
How the money moves, in 3 steps
1. It comes in in the payer's currency. Your client transfers to an account in your company's name, just as they would pay any local supplier.
2. It crosses over as digital dollars. The amount becomes digital dollars (USDT or USDC), a currency pegged to the US dollar that works around the clock, weekends included. This is the bridge between countries.
3. It goes out in the recipient's currency. The money arrives through the destination's local payment method, straight in the local currency. No waiting 1 to 5 days for funds to clear: with Lexxen, it happens in minutes.
Where the corridors go
Each corridor has its own payment method and its own timing:
- US dollar (United States): Wire, ACH and FedNow. Usually under 5 minutes.
- Euro (Europe): SEPA Instant and SEPA Credit. Instant transfers arrive in under 5 minutes; SEPA Credit arrives the same business day.
- Brazilian real (Brazil): PIX, within 30 minutes.
- Mexican peso: SPEI, in under 5 minutes.
- British pound (United Kingdom): Faster Payments and BACS, within 30 minutes.
- Colombian peso: Bre-B, in under 5 minutes.
- China: Pay Chinese factories and suppliers directly from PIX.
Instant payment methods run 24 hours a day, including weekends and holidays.
Who this makes a difference for
Importers who need to pay suppliers abroad, companies that sell to clients in other countries, businesses with a branch or team overseas, and anyone who wants to receive foreign currency without waiting days.
It all lives on one platform, with the same balance and the same statement. You can also integrate via API, straight into your own system.
What you see before you confirm
Before any transaction goes through, you see the exchange rate, the fee and the final amount that will arrive, right on screen. No charges that only show up at the end. Pricing is per transaction and gets lower as your monthly volume grows. Limits vary by corridor and company profile, and our team walks you through your case before you start.
Common questions
Is this an investment? No. Digital dollars are simply the route that carries money from one country to another. Lexxen does not recommend buying virtual assets and does not promise returns or appreciation.
